NEW YEAR : HAPPINESS

 NEW YEAR: HAPPINESS

 I am glad to attend New Year Party,

 It is in full swing, with merriment, 
  All are dancing and shouting,
Climax of hilarity is present.

People pretend to be happy,

The whole circle, as they seek,

They are happier in advance,

And become happiest, at the peak.

I feel, all this is a magic,

Which is live- show, to perform,

All are acting till drop-scene,

To exhibit, the maximum charm.

My' happiness' be the topmost,

If it lags; it is a curse,

This happiness is meaningless,

Unless, I compare it with others.

I pay for happiness, to buy the same,

Spending the money is no trouble,

If this happiness is a thousand deal,

The two 'thousands', may earn the double.

With the bundle of happiness, I come out,

It is raining, in the darkness of night,

A poor street-boy is dancing on the road,

Mud-clad, bare naked, shining bright,

His dance? no rhythm, no steps, no sense,

He is playing with an old rustic flute,

 My happiness is with respect to others,

But his innocent happiness is absolute.

I spread my arms to acquire happiness,

As if-it is any technique, any magic, any art,

I search happiness in club, pub, drug and dance-

But real happiness, lives in the core of heart.

Mr. Gentleman

Mr.Gentleman was standing in the field,

In open and vast area ,  greenery everywhere,

Standing erect, in formal  grass uniform,

Pretending the silent caution-'Who Comes There'?

Mr.Gentleman was a scarecrow,  to guard the crop,

Previously, he performed his duty very well,

The flying birds, grazing cattle,  animals stopped,

For them,  this strange thing was  a danger- bell. 

But soon,  they learnt that this was only a puppet ,

Very soon, this figure's gentleness was quite clear,

Birds sat and danced on the head of the scarecrow,

Cattle pulled the grass, rubbed their bodies without fear,

 Then one morning the troubled farmer brought a gun,

He hid behind Mr. Gentleman,  and fired in the air,

One bullet spread the horror and panic all around,

Mischievous creatures shouted- unfair,  unfair, unfair.

Shooting for a week, and no miscreants were found,

They never expected reaction from inert Gentleman,

Birds disappeared in the sky,  all the cattle ran away,

All the creatures seemed frightened, nervous, and wan.

The farmer took a deep sigh, and  said to the scarecrow,

"Dear Bizooka! You are gentleman,  it is not sufficient,

By force,you have to compel others to be equally gentle,

Then only,safety of the crop is possible,  hundred percent.

Gentleness rebounds,  only with the help of gunfire-

When the climax of gentleness strikes deaf ear,

Thunder shots are required,  so that others can listen,

Is that clear?"
