It was written in bold, shining letters,

-Heartily welcome, Happy New Year."

"How can I be happy ?"the new page  told,

"Writing on me is same, script is the same,

Ink is the same, old, rustic pen is  the same,

The carving hand is same, Whom to blame?"

Time-wheel whispered in a very low tone-

"Hope and ambition is also same, my dear, 

Man is always stretching arms for rising sun,

Emerge from darkness, despair-  happy new year."

The first sun- ray,

Peeps out from sky,    

Kisses the sea-wave,

Hesitant and shy.

 

 Short script it writes-

LOVE-is the only word,

Millions time told,

Always heard.

 

Passage of dusk,

Fades it away,

Is it futile repeat-

-since infinite days?

 

 Meaning of love,

Message of sun rays,

Is the eternal journey,

'WRITING'  on water, says.

Life, like a little snowball,

Rolls down from mountain peak,

Gathers huge mass,

Pretends to be might-

-to be hero.

In bottom dark valley,

It melts,

turns into absolute zero.

Infinite mass of moments,

Suspend from pendulum,

I try to capture them,

In vain.

Like a clown-

They dance, deceive,escape,

And fall down.

# THE STAR

I saw that distant star,
Shining in the dark sky,
My ambition,on wings of imagination,
Started to fly.

The star was my target,
My distant goal in sight,
But the,dreary,deserted,path,
Blocked me in dark night.

I shivered in damp cold,
Heap of firefly was around me,
Light flashed for moments,
Thorny bushes,hardly, could I see.

I fell in a pit,no help, no lift,
I Came out,crawled,laid dull,
Shining star was inviting me-
My strength,desire was null.

Time paused;time passed on,
I rested in dark,unable to see,
Hell was this difficult passage-
Till first ray of light kissed me.

Surroundings flooded with glow,
Nature smiled with feather touch,
Golden path was ahead of me,
Panic vanished,pleasure so much.

Why did I opt, dark night travel ?
That difficult, horrible, risky walk-
When all comfort, luxury was there,
One option was ease,another, shock ?

Under damp sky,rainbow had frozen,
I walked,inhaling fragrance of air,
The broad day-light was guiding me,
But O! my target star was nowhere.
